International Certifications
United States of America
The Intertek Mark indicates that Intertek has tested representative samples of a product and found them to be in compliance with applicable standards regarding fire, electric shock, and mechanical hazards. Every year, 20 billion products worldwide are authorized to carry the Intertek safety mark. Intertek has extensive experience in product testing and certification. Intertek scientifically examines thousands of products, components, materials, and systems, from design to production, ensuring compliance with all technical and safety requirements. Furthermore, Intertek has developed numerous safety standards. Intertek’s global network includes engineers, researchers, chemists, technicians, field representatives, and customer support staff, all dedicated to public safety.
EQS provides consultancy for Intertek certification and supports the client through every necessary step.
Mexico
NOM (Norma Oficial Mexicana) certification is mandatory to access the Mexican market for certain categories of electrical/electronic products, including all household appliances. To obtain certifications in this country, the Customs Code for imported products (HS Code) must be provided to EQS at the time of the request for a quote.
Brazil
INMETRO Certification is required for the importation of household appliances and toys into Brazil. To obtain certifications in this country, the Customs Code for imported products (HS Code) must be provided to EQS at the time of the request for a quote.
The legal entities involved in the certification are:
- The Client – a local company (mandatory), which contracts the Certification
- The Laboratory accredited by Inmetro
- The CB – Certification Body, accredited by Inmetro.
EQS acts only as a laboratory, not as a CB. If a CB is not known, several will be suggested upon opening the file.
Argentina
IRAM S-Mark certification is mandatory for marketing various categories of electrical/electronic products in Argentina. To obtain certifications in this country, the Customs Code for imported products (HS Code) must be provided to EQS at the time of the request for a quote.
Europe
European Quality Standard prepares the technical file on behalf of its clients to be submitted to the partner who, as a Notified Body, issues the relevant CE Certificate. This procedure is carried out in accordance with the Blue Guide issued by the European Commission, under which the Test Reports prepared by EQS are recognized by the Notified Bodies with which it collaborates.

Russia, EurAsEC
The Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC or EAEC) is a regional international organization that brings together several post-Soviet states, currently belonging to the Commonwealth of Independent States, located on the Eurasian continent.
Currently, the status is as follows:
- Members: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan.
- Self-suspended member: Uzbekistan.
- Observers: Armenia, Moldova.
This means that in order to sell products in both Russia and Ukraine, two different certifications are required. UkrSEPRO certification is the Ukrainian certification system, which is a system similar to the Russian Gost-R. The UkrSEPRO certificate is a document issued by the Ukrainian authorities and is intended to confirm compliance with quality and safety standards and norms in the production of goods and the provision of services.
In EurAsEC countries, however, since February 14, 2013, the Gost certification system has been replaced by Technical Regulations.
To obtain certifications in these countries, the Customs Code for imported products (HS Code) must be provided to EQS at the time of the request for a quote.
China
The China Compulsory Certificate, commonly known as the CCC mark, is a mandatory safety mark for many products sold on the Chinese market. It became effective on May 1, 2002. It is the result of the integration of two previous Chinese examination systems, called CCIB (a safety mark introduced in 1989 and required for products in 47 categories) and CCEE (also known as the “Great Wall” mark, required for 7 categories of electrical products). The mark is required for both products manufactured in China and those imported.
The products to which the CCC mark is applied are as follows:
- electrical wires and cables
- circuit switches and connection devices
- low-voltage electrical apparatus
- low-power motors
- electrical tools
- welding machines
- household electrical appliances
- audio and video apparatus
- IT equipment
- lighting apparatus
- telecommunications equipment
- motor vehicles and safety parts
- motor vehicle tires
- safety glass
- agricultural machinery
- latex products
- medical devices
- firefighting equipment
- intrusion detectors for alarm systems
- WLAN systems
- toys
Under the responsibility of the Chinese authorities, the CCC mark is administered by the CNCA (Certification and Accreditation Administration). The China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) is designated by the CNCA to review CCC mark applications and define the products that require the CCC.
The certification process includes the following steps: an application for testing and supporting material are submitted; a Chinese laboratory designated by the CNCA tests product samples; the CQC sends representatives to inspect the production facility; the issuance of the CCC certificate is approved or rejected; Chinese inspectors visit the factory annually.

Japan
The Circle or Diamond PSE Mark (Product Safety Electric Appliance and Materials) is mandatory in Japan to indicate that the product complies with the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law (DENAN). To obtain certifications in this country, the Customs Code for imported products (HS Code) must be provided to EQS at the time of the request for a quote.
Middle East – Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)
The Gulf Cooperation Council, whose full name is the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (CCASG), is a regional international organization that brings together six Persian Gulf states: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar. To obtain certifications in this country, the Customs Code for imported products (HS Code) must be provided to EQS at the time of the request for a quote.
Australia and New Zealand
Certification for Australia and New Zealand. For the toy sector, EQS is directly authorized for certification.
For the gas sector, AGA (the Australian Gas Association) certification takes place following laboratory analyses normally performed on-site and invoiced at cost. To obtain certifications in these countries, the Customs Code for imported products (HS Code) must be provided to EQS at the time of the request for a quote.
EQS Green
The purpose of the EQSgreen Mark is to address issues related to the environmentally sustainable development of clients’ activities together with the applicant. It is issued based on the EQSgreen General Regulations to all products and services for which a Specific Protocol exists.
International Certification Systems
The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is an international organization for the definition of standards in the fields of electricity, electronics, and related technologies. Many of its standards are defined in collaboration with ISO (International Organization for Standardization).
